About Us
The Wyvern Institute is a Registered Training Establishment (RTE) in Bristol, the heart of Wessex. We offer advanced training in psychotherapy and therapeutic counselling, focussing largely, but not exclusively, on the theories, models and methods of Transactional Analysis.
We also learn about approaches using insights and elements from Cognitive-Behavioural, Relational, Rogerian, Gestalt, Object Relations and Self-Psychology modalities.

Training
Our Transactional Analysis training courses are suitable for every stage of our students’ learning journey, from foundation courses through to advanced psychotherapy courses.
We welcome neurodivergent students and seek to accommodate all styles of learning. In particular, so that we can support students with high-functioning autism, we work with a partner organisation, The Different Engine, providing specialist training in this field.
Therapy
Our advanced trainees provide low-cost therapy to adult clients. Our students also work with a number of local charities to provide low-cost therapy sessions to different client groups.

Completion of the Official TA101 two-day workshop is a minimum requirement for commencing our one-year Foundation Course in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy. We will take additional relevant experience into consideration when you apply for this programme.
